Program Director of the Year Award

This award is given annually to a program director who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing residency education as evidenced by innovation and impact beyond his/her program. Up to two awards are presented annually.

2015: Mark Frank Levine, MBBCh, FRCPC, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada and Fraser Douglas Rubens, MD, MSc, FACS, FRCSC, University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada

Kristin Sivertz Resident Leadership Award

This award is given annually to a resident who has demonstrated leadership in Canadian specialty education and encourages the development of future leaders in medicine. Up to two awards are presented annually.

International Residency Educator of the Year Award

This award is given annually to an international residency educator who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing residency education as evidenced by innovation and impact beyond his/her program.

2015: Neela Al Lamki, MD, FRCPC, FACR, FRCPI, FRCP(Glasg), Oman Medical Specialty Board, Oman


International Resident Leadership Award

This award is given annually to an international resident who has demonstrated leadership in specialty education and encourages the development of future leaders in medicine.

2015: Deepa Shah, MD, East Carolina University, USA


Program Administrator Award for Innovation and Excellence

This award is given annually to a Residency Program Administrator (PA) who has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing residency education as evidenced by innovation and excellence beyond his/her program.

2015: Ginette Snook, CMEA, The University of Ottawa Eye Institute


ICRE Best Paper and Best Poster Awards

Each year, the best paper, the best resident paper and best poster presentations, as well as the top What Works paper, are selected during the conference. Winners of the Best Paper and Best Poster Awards are invited as our guests and recognized at the International Residency Education Awards Dinner. Recipients receive a certificate and are featured on the Royal College website and publications.
