The Royal College offers alternate work arrangements, including flexible work hours, telework and compressed workweeks. Knowing that relaxation and time away from work are important, we close between Christmas and the New Year. This break is in addition to our generous vacation policy.

As we continually improve the ways in which we do business, we’re eager to reward those who bring teamwork and vision to their jobs. Our career-planning process provides employees with an opportunity to chart their futures and receive feedback and support on a continuous basis. Employees are actively encouraged to gain new skills through training, project work and ongoing mentoring.

We protect your health

Our generous benefit plan applies on your first day of employment. It includes: prescription drug coverage, vision care, health care, dental care, life insurance/accidental death and dismemberment, long term disability, pension plan and access to our Employee Assistance Plan. Employees can also take advantage of a subsidized massage or physiotherapy from a licensed therapist.

We believe that employees need to achieve balance in their lives. We offer free access to an onsite gym with fitness equipment. Employees can also run, walk or skate along the Rideau Canal, which is located a just few steps from our building — and then shower in our onsite facilities before they head back to the office.

We want you to be comfortable

Our lovely lunchroom provides microwave ovens, a refrigerator and vending machines as well as free gourmet coffee, tea and hot chocolate. When the weather is pleasant, our employees often eat and visit in our picnic area or balcony. We host relaxed summer picnics for all staff, where employees enjoy the company of colleagues. We also schedule an extended lunch break every second week so that staff can enjoy special lunch plans without having to rush back to the office.

Some employees experience allergic reactions, asthma or migraine headaches due to chemical sensitivities. The Royal College supports a scent-free environment and requests that employees refrain from using scented products such as perfumes, aftershaves, air-fresheners, etc., during working hours.

We look out for your safety and family

The Royal College is known for making sure that employees arrive home safely. We also close on severe snow days when we can. You receive full access to vacation and family/emergency days from the day you start your job.

The Royal College is staffed by intelligent, caring individuals who are passionate about their jobs. We value the opinions of each and every employee. Our CEO hosts regular Town Hall meetings so you can keep up to date with what’s happening at the Royal College.
