The Royal College is expanding its international activities
More than ever before, the Royal College, through Royal College Canada International (RCCI), is involved in international, volunteer-driven medical education projects. Fellows are encouraged to get involved.
Our international services
Education
RCCI runs conferences, short courses and workshops for international medical faculty on all aspects of the CanMEDS competencies and standards. This includes physician evaluation and assessment, curriculum development, examiner and surveyor training, accreditation standards for residency programs and the training of clinician educators. Find more information about our CanMEDs products and services.
We also provide conferences, short courses and workshops for practitioners that include online bio-ethics modules for physicians and simulation workshops that equip physicians and health care teams with training in difficult critical care situations. We can deliver workshops using our high-fidelity simulation platform or our “virtual patient” technology — either onsite or from remotely. Learn more about our simulation workshops.
Residency program consultations
We use Canadian standards to perform operational reviews of international specialty residency programs, providing our partners with an assessment of their strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Advisory and consulting services
We offer consulting services covering postgraduate medical education standards, systems and tools as well as continuing professional development standards and programming. We can also provide advice on issues involving health human resources and health system reform.
