The Royal College promotes the maintenance of high standards and excellence in every aspect of the MOC Program. Activities such as conferences, workshops, seminars, rounds, journal clubs, small-group learning and self-assessment programs, represent key components of the program.
Most group learning activities held in Canada and all self-assessment programs must be reviewed and approved by a Royal College accredited continuing professional development (CPD) provider before receiving approval as an accredited activity.
The accreditation of rounds, journal clubs and small learning groups in Section 1 of the Framework of Continuing Professional Development Activities is through a self-approval process where physician leaders ensure their rounds and journal clubs meet the established Royal College standards allowing these activities to be included under this section.
