Health Care Professionals participate in the MOC Program

The Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program is the Royal College's continuing professional development program for Health Care Professionals practising in Canada who are not Fellows of the Royal College. Like Fellows, Health Care Professionals join the MOC Program to make lifelong learning a priority and to meet the requirements of provincial licensure, as well as for other personal or professional reasons.

Identical program requirements

The MOC Program requirements for Health Care Professionals are identical to the requirements for Fellows in all aspects. Health Care Professionals participating in the MOC Program pay a fee each year. This provides them access to MAINPORT, the web application for managing and documenting their learning activities and outcomes, and to the Royal College's CPD educators, a regional network of educators that support program participants in their learning goals.

Health Care Professionals include (but are not limited to)

  1. medical specialists who are not Fellows of the Royal College,
  2. licensed physicians,
  3. international medical graduates,
  4. PhDs,
  5. medical geneticists, and
  6. other members of the health care team.
