How to qualify for an Area of Focused Competence (Diploma)
The Competency Training Requirements (CTR) is a new AFC discipline-specific document that outlines AFC (Diploma) training requirements. It replaces both the Objectives of Training (OTR) and the Specialty Training Requirements (STR) used to outline training in Royal College accredited specialties and subspecialties.
To demonstrate that you meet the requirements outlined in your AFC (Diploma) CTR, you must submit a discipline-specific portfolio showing how you have achieved each of the required milestones. A milestone is the specific competency expected of a physician at a particular stage of development, as defined by the discipline’s CTR.
Portfolios must be submitted using the online portfolio system eDiploma.
