Your registration will not be considered complete unless the exam fee is submitted with your exam registration form.


Surgical Foundations exam


If you are taking the Surgical Foundations exam and were informed that you could provisionally register for the final exam of a surgical specialty next spring, please provide the Royal College with two separate cheques: one for the Surgical Foundations exam; and one for the comprehensive objective exam in your specialty.

  • Payment by credit card (in Canadian dollars only) is acceptable only if a credit card authorization form is completed.
  • Submit a cheque or money order for the appropriate exam fee with the registration form to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, 774 Echo Drive, Ottawa, ON K1S 5N8.
  • Cheques must be made payable to “The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada” and must bear the current date.
  • Cheques in Canadian funds must be drawn on a Canadian bank, and cheques in U.S. funds on a U.S. bank. If paying in U.S. funds, consult your bank for the current exchange rate.
  • Royal College exam fees can be claimed as a non-refundable tuition tax credit. Credential application fees paid for assessments to determine eligibility to write Royal College exams are also included in the tax credit. Tax receipts are issued for the year the exam is written, regardless of when the fee was paid.
