Discover Dalhousie University

2018 is a fantastic time to be visiting Dalhousie University. This year, Dalhousie celebrates its 200th year as a place of higher learning and its 150th year as a medical school.

Formerly known as the “Fresh Air Experience,” local Program Administrators will guide an informal walk-about campus. This will give visitors a chance to view the unique architecture of the original buildings of the university, as well as the modern sports facilities.

Participants should meet at the corner of University Avenue and Robie Street, approximately a 15 minute walk from the Halifax Convention Centre, or a very quick cab ride. The leisurely walk-about campus will take about 40 minutes, before heading back down-hill to the Halifax Convention Centre.

Gain approval to attend ICRE 2018

In today’s economy, we know that spending time and money to attend the International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE) and its associated events is a professional development opportunity that sometimes needs to be justified. We recommend that you follow the steps below to demonstrate to your program director or management the positive return on investment (ROI) for your institution, clinic or organization that will result from attending ICRE 2018.

Step 1:

Explore the 2018 program and determine which educational sessions you plan to attend. Choose those that will most benefit your professional practice, your research, your colleagues/residents and your institution. Each of the plenaries and workshops outline specific learning objectives and outcomes for participants.

Step 2:

Complete a Request Letter and submit to your program director or management. This letter, developed specifically for our medical education audience, is meant to help facilitate the approval process and create a business case for attending the 2018 Program Administrators Conference. You may also download our Cost/Benefit Worksheet to help develop a cost estimate.

We look forward to seeing you in Halifax this autumn!
