Best Presentation Award

The Royal College presents this award annually at the Simulation Summit, for the best oral presentation of a simulation-based research.

Eligibility

Paper presenters are automatically eligible for the Best Presentation Award.

Selection

Submissions will be adjudicated by a panel appointed by the Simulation Summit Scientific Planning Committee.

Presenters will be judged on the following criteria:

  • impact on the field of simulation,
  • scientific merit, and
  • communication

Simulation Summit Research Award

The Royal College presents this award annually at the Simulation Summit, for the best poster presentation of simulation-based research.

Eligibility

All poster presenters at the Simulation Summit are automatically eligible for the Simulation Summit Research Award. Presenters must attend the Simulation Summit and be available to discuss their poster during the designated times at the meeting.

Selection

Submissions will be adjudicated by a panel appointed by the Simulation Summit Scientific Planning Committee. Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:

  • impact on the field of simulation;
  • originality; and
  • scientific merit

Emerging Investigator

The Royal College presents this award annually at the Simulation Summit, for the best simulation-based research by an emerging investigator.

Eligibility

The top two emerging investigator submissions will present during the emerging investigator session at the Simulation Summit. After presentations, the winner of the Simulation Summit Emerging Investigator Award will be selected by the session judges. Please note: For the purposes of this competition, emerging investigators are defined as those with less than five years of research experience.

Selection

Submissions will be adjudicated by a panel appointed by the Simulation Summit Scientific Planning Committee. Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:

  • impact on the field of simulation;
  • originality; and
  • scientific merit.

Note: To qualify for this award, you must submit your research abstract through the Simulation Summit Call for Abstracts submission process and select that you identify as an ‘Emerging Investigator.’ There is not a separate submission process for this award.

The Awards

Awards will be presented on Saturday September 29, 2018 during the closing session.
