AODA for volunteers
Dear Royal College Volunteers:
The Royal College is required by law to ensure both staff and volunteers are aware of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). It is our commitment, with your support, to ensure people with disabilities have the same fair and equitable access to Royal College programs and services as people without disabilities. Attached is a PPT created to ensure you, as a Royal College volunteer, are aware of your responsibilities under AODA.
We realize that some of the information shared in this PPT is simply a reminder of what you already know; additionally, we realize that you may have already received similar AODA training through hospitals, universities or other work related environments. Nonetheless, we ask that you review this short PPT, as in some cases, tips for interactions with people with disabilities are specific to Royal College work, such as in an exam environment.
Royal College contact information is provided on slide #15, if at any time you have feedback, questions or concerns about AODA implications, as a volunteer working on behalf of the Royal College.
As always, your time and expertise as a Royal College volunteer is greatly appreciated.
