Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare

The Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare (CNSH) is a pan-Canadian inter-professional network for simulation in health care learning. Professional groups represented include medicine, nursing, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, social work, paramedics, diagnostic imaging, med lab and many others. The founding board members include leaders in simulation centres, institutes, colleges and universities from across Canada.

Canadian Patient Safety Institute

Established by Health Canada in 2003, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute works with governments, health organizations and health care providers to inspire extraordinary improvement in patient safety and quality.

SIM-one

SIM-one – the Ontario Simulation Network – is a not-for-profit organization that connects the simulation community as well as simulation facilities, resources and services across Ontario. It also advocates for and advances simulated learning in the health professions. SIM-one is fully supported by Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-term Care.

Competence by Design

Competence by Design is a multi-year initiative at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The goal is to implement a competency-based medical education approach to residency education and specialty practice in Canada.

CanMEDS

CanMEDS is an educational framework created by the Royal College that identifies and describes seven roles that lead to optimal health and health care outcomes.
