Committees of the Royal College

Committees are essential to the Royal College. They guide and direct our organization and they make an indelible impact on residents, Fellows, and the communities they serve through their work.

Each committee within the governing committee structure is accountable either to Council or a standing committee that reports to Council.

Committee recruitment!

The official recruitment period for committee positions that begin in February 2023 has now closed. Thank you to everyone who applied. Selected applicants will be contacted for interviews in November and December before committee appointments are approved in January.

Recruitment is ongoing for the positions listed below.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Regional Advisory Committee 4: Up to three Royal College Fellows,
    • one of whom is practicing in a semi-urban or rural community;
    • one from a Faculty of Medicine in the region with expertise in continuing professional development; and
    • one of whom is an early-career Fellow.
  • Regional Advisory Committee 5: Up to two Royal College Fellows from
    • Nova Scotia or New Brunswick, one of whom is practicing in a semi-urban or rural community.

Please refer to the respective committee’s terms of reference (linked below) for information about the committee’s responsibilities and anticipated workload. All of our committee positions are volunteer positions, with travel expenses reimbursed for in-person meetings.
