Every fall the Office of Specialty Education sponsors an invitational Workshop for New Program Directors. Designed and run by current and past program directors, the sessions are designed to help program directors prepare for their new role and responsibilities and include topics like:
- Assessment
- Accreditation
- Residents in difficulty
- Equity in residency education
- Resources for Program Directors
Program Directors play a vital role in Canada’s postgraduate education system. Over the course of an average day, a program director wears many different hats and helps support, sustain, and enhance a complex and critical system that serves an important role in the health of all Canadians. This crucial role comes with significant responsibility and deserves to be well-supported.
