Royal College Canada International Board of Directors                

The governance and stewardship of Royal College Canada International (RCCI) is the responsibility of the RCCI Board. The Board oversees the management of RCCI’s business strategies to improve and build capacity in specialty medical education and practice around the world, by marketing and providing consulting services of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

RCCI also delivers the International Development, Aid and Collaboration funding program. The program supports a selected number of projects led by Royal College Fellows that help to improve health profession education and local capacity in low- and middle-income countries.

We are recruiting!

RCCI is recruiting Fellows, business leaders and members of the public sector to join its Board of Directors for new three-year terms starting on September 22, 2023.

The RCCI Board has three to 15 positions; RCCI is recruiting for two to four new Board members for the 2023–2026 term. Board terms are renewable once.

Recruitment criteria

The Royal College (and by extension RCCI) is committed to Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation and to upholding the principles of anti-racism, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The wish is to create boards and committees that reflect the many social identities of the Royal College’s membership and RCCI’s clientele, including ethnic origin, race, age, disability, religion, gender identity and expression, and sexual orientation.

If you have knowledge, skills and/or experience in one or more of the areas listed below, or other equivalent knowledge and experience, please consider applying.

Key skill areas

  • International programmatic consulting (cost-recovery): Experience in international consulting, and knowledge of business drivers in the medical education and / or health care markets in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Australasia.
  • Diplomatic relations: Experience liaising with foreign and domestic entities to advance key strategies and projects in an international environment.
  • Human rights: Knowledge or experience with international human rights matters, policy, or law to inform RCI engagements.                          

Key dates

The RCCI Board elections process is being run by the RCCI Nominating Governance Committee. The committee will be meeting in early summer to review and consider applications. Interviews will be held with selected applicants. Elections will take place at the RCCI Annual Meeting of the Members on September 22, 2023.
