Discover the Newly Harmonized French Surgical Vocabulary

The Royal College is pleased to introduce a newly harmonized vocabulary used in the field of surgery. The proposed vocabulary was developed to allow seamless communication between Royal College examiners and candidates. It has over 375 surgical expressions approved by Royal College experts in specialty medical education and care, and l'Office québécois de la langue française.

The Royal College invites examiners, candidates and medical educators to consult it in preparation for its exams and use it in their practice.

The Royal College examiners will not penalize candidates who use other terms or expressions during exams.
