Margot Ruth Roach, MD, FRCPC, died on August 24, 2023, in Truro, N.S., at age 88. She was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1965. Dr. Roach obtained her medical degree from McGill University in 1959. She spent her career working in the field of medical biophysics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. Read more about Dr. Roach.

Jacques Murray, MD, FRCSC, died on June 6, 2023, in Montreal, Que., at age 83. He was certified by the Royal College in Orthopedic Surgery in 1972. Dr. Murray obtained his medical degree from the University of Montreal in 1965. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon at the Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel for 49 years. Read more about Dr. Murray.

Douglas Booth Craig, MD/CM, FRCPC, died on August 4, 2023, in Montreal, Que., at age 82. He was certified by the Royal College in Anesthesiology in 1970. Dr. Craig obtained his medical degree from McGill University in 1965. He worked in clinical practice and as program director of the Anesthesia Department at the University of Manitoba. Raynald Molinari, MD/CM, FRCPC, died on May 25, 2023, in Montreal, Que, at age 65. He was certified by the Royal College in Dermatology in 2004. Dr. Molinari obtained his medical degree from McGill University in 1983. He practised at the McGill University Health Centre and the Jean-Talon Hospital. He worked as the director of the Laval Dermatology Clinic and as a clinical professor in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Read more about Dr. Molinari.

Gordon Harold Knutson, MD/CM, FRCSC, died on May 9, 2023, in Toronto, Ont., at age 94. He was certified by the Royal College in Plastic Surgery in 1963. Dr. Knutson obtained his medical degree from McGill University in 1958. First a dentist, then a surgeon, he spent 16 years studying dentistry and medicine at eight hospitals before he set up his own practice at Toronto Western Hospital. Read more about Dr. Knutson.

Avinoam Ben Tsiyon Chernick, MD, FRCPC, died on May 8, 2023, in London, Ont., at age 88. He was certified by the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1967. Dr. Chernick obtained his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1962. He was a key advocate for the newly formed London Childbirth Education Association supporting the role of fathers in the delivery room. He also championed the right of women to access contraception and medically safe therapeutic abortion. Read more about Dr. Chernick.

Charles Herbert Harley, MD, FRCPC, died on May 8, 2023, in Edmonton, Alta., at age 81. He was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1970. Dr. Harley obtained his medical degree from the University of Alberta in 1965. He worked as the associate dean for undergraduate medical education within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. He also worked as chief of Internal Medicine at the Charles Camsell, Royal Alexandra, and Sturgeon Hospitals, and as medical director of the Glenrose Hospital. Read more about Dr. Harley.
