  6. Planetary Health [ + Expand ]

The Planetary Health Alliance defines planetary health as “a solutions-oriented, transdisciplinary field and social movement focused on analyzing and addressing the impacts of human disruptions to Earth’s natural systems on human health and all life on Earth”. Planetary health addresses both the climate crisis and other ecological crises, including land destruction, biodiversity loss and pollution.

(Currently, the C25 Steering Committee is exploring alternative structures to ensure that Indigenous Health is addressed as we are committed to working with Indigenous physicians and patients on this project. In the meantime, we encourage Indigenous learners, physicians and patients to engage in EWGs to interweave their perspectives throughout the framework.)

CanMEDS 2025 aims to develop a framework of competencies that will be used by the diverse community of people who set education and practice standards and who provide quality care to patients. As much as possible, representation on an Expert Working Group or e-panel is designed to facilitate inclusion and involve individuals with varying perspectives and expertise. All interested members are encouraged to get involved.
