Announcing the Royal College’s new director, Finance and Administration

Effective February 5, 2024, Amirah Fayek, MBA, CPA, PMP, will assume the inaugural role of director, Finance and Administration.

Ms. Fayek comes to the Royal College from Trillium Healthcare Products where she is currently vice-president Finance.

Previously the chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Saegis, a subsidiary organization of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), from 2021-2023, Ms. Fayek was responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the organization’s finance and operations, including the business model and internal processes to ensure maximum productivity and revenue. Her portfolio included finance, risk management, information technology, evaluation and performance measurement, governance and facilities. She provided leadership by ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations and by coordinating the activities of the Saegis subsidiaries.

From 2014 to 2021, Ms. Fayek held a number of roles at CMPA in finance and business strategy, including director, Safety Programs Management. In this director role, she was responsible for planning, measuring and reporting on the impact of member and business partner activities and the design and implementation of processes and systems to support operational decision-making.

Ms. Fayek has experience leading complex organizational projects aligned with strategic imperatives during periods of organizational and cultural change and realignment.

Raised in Ottawa, Ont., Ms. Fayek is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She earned her graduate degree from the University of Fredericton, N.B., and completed her Project Management Professional certification in 2019.
