Research and Evaluation Management Advisory Committee  

The Royal College is recruiting individuals (Fellow and non-Fellow) to fill five positions on the inaugural Research and Evaluation Management Advisory Committee (REAC).  The REAC will play a key role in ensuring strategic alignment and value of all research and evaluation activities undertaken by the Royal College.

The role and commitment 

The REAC is an advisory committee to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will act as thought leaders to inform the strategic direction for the Royal College’s research and evaluation initiatives and activities, including alignment of the Royal College’s role within the broader (domestic and international) research ecosystem. Members will provide independent, expert and relevant, and diverse, strategic advice on matters relating to research and evaluation.

The REAC will convene quarterly; most meetings will be virtual, with a minimum of a once annual in-person meeting. 

Five individuals are needed to fill vacancies on the REAC for the 2023-2026 term. We are seeking individuals who have an excellent track record in their personal research. We are anticipating applications from those with varied research backgrounds, including medical education, biomedical, clinical, health systems, and others. 

Individuals should possess the following key competencies and characteristics, including who reflect: 

  • the highest standards of research excellence; 

  • a range of relevant research backgrounds and disciplines, such as in the fields of medical education, clinical research and/or research respecting health systems, health services;

  • knowledge, skills and/or experience in the work of committees or other equivalent knowledge and/or leadership experience.

Members will be appointed to provide independent, expert, and relevant, and diverse, strategic advice on matters relating to research and evaluation.

All completed applications received by the deadline (July 4) will be considered by the Chair of the Committee, the Associate Director, Research and Evaluation and one designated staff representative.
